Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Merrillville, IN. The role offers extensive courtroom experience through regular appearances and involves managing contested litigation, reviewing claims and pleadings, and supporting all aspects of the litigation process. The position starts in-office with the possibility of a hybrid arrangement.

Duties

• Appear in court three days per week.
• Review new claims and pleadings for compliance.
• Draft, review, and argue motions; conduct trials and arbitrations.
• Manage communication with opposing counsel.
• Prepare and respond to discovery and counterclaims.

Requirements

• JD; Missouri Bar required, Kansas Bar desirable.
• Must hold a Kansas or Indiana license.
• Open to all experience levels and practice areas.
• Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel; Collection Master preferred.
• Strong communication, independence, judgment, and attention to detail.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD)

Certifications

• Missouri Bar
• Kansas Bar (desirable)

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Preferred experience with Collection Master.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with sound judgment.
