Junior Disability Associate Attorney

A law firm is seeking a Junior Disability Associate Attorney to join their team in Houston, TX. This position involves representing clients in hearings before Social Security Administrative Law Judges, with hearings comprising approximately half to two-thirds of the workload. Duties and qualifications include:

Job Overview: Join a Social Security Disability law firm to represent clients in hearings, answer client inquiries, review and develop pre-hearing and hearing level cases, conduct legal research, write pre-hearing brief memorandums and draft appeals council briefs.

Duties:

• Represent clients in hearings before Social Security Administrative Law Judges.
• Answer client questions and inquiries.
• Review and develop pre-hearing and hearing-level cases.
• Conduct legal research.
• Write pre-hearing brief memorandums.
• Draft appeals council briefs.
• Regular client contact via telephone, in person, mail, and email.

Requirements:

• Attorney License.
• Reliability and Dependability.
• Eagerness to Learn and Make a Difference.
• Strong Communication Skills, Both Oral and Written.
• Excellent Legal Writing Skills.
• Ability to Travel to and from Hearings in Other Cities and States Up to 70% of the Time.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the State Bar.

Skills:

• Knowledge of Social Security Disability Law is preferred.
