Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level Associate with expertise in construction law to join their practice in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have experience in drafting and negotiating engineering, procurement, and construction agreements, and will be comfortable managing complex, large-scale projects.

Duties

• Draft EPC, construction, and service agreements.
• Assist in resolving construction-related disputes.
• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda.
• Analyze and revise technical documents.
• Negotiate and enforce performance securities.
• Participate in due diligence and prepare reports.
• Coordinate with local counsel and internal experts.
• Communicate with clients and provide legal assistance.
• Manage and train junior associates.
• Prepare materials for business development.
• Join educational seminars and practice groups.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant experience; transactional experience required.
• Admitted to the New York bar or ability to become admitted.
• Background in engineering or project management preferred.
• Strong academic record and intellectual curiosity.
• Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
• Excellent drafting and time management skills.
• Proactive, resourceful, and client-focused.
• Fluency in English; international experience is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to the New York bar (or ability to become admitted).
