Duties

• Advise clients on healthcare compliance, including HIPAA and other federal and state regulations.
• Provide legal support for healthcare transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and related legal documents.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop compliance strategies for healthcare organizations.
• Represent clients before regulatory agencies as needed.
• Stay updated on changes to healthcare laws and regulations affecting clients.
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to implement effective compliance programs.

Requirements

• 17 years of legal experience, with a focus on healthcare compliance and transactions.
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA and other healthcare regulatory requirements.
• Proven track record of successfully handling complex healthcare transactions.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in the State of Michigan (or eligibility for reciprocity).

Certifications

• Compliance certifications such as CHC (Certified in Healthcare Compliance) or similar credentials are preferred but not required.
