A reputable immigration law firm based in San Diego, California is seeking a full-time Immigration Attorney with 3 years of experience. The ideal candidate must be fluent in both English and Spanish and possess a deep understanding of USCIS, EOIR, and NVC procedures. This role involves hands-on case management, client interaction, and preparation of a variety of immigration filings. The position requires in-person presence and occasional Saturday availability.

Duties

  • Analyze legal issues in immigration cases and provide case strategy

  • Prepare and file applications with USCIS, EOIR, and the National Visa Center (NVC)

  • Draft legal documents, including affidavits and declarations

  • Handle various family-based immigration forms and petitions (e.g., I-130, I-90, N-400, 601/212 waivers, U-Visa, VAWA, Asylum, Work Permits)

  • File and manage FOIA requests, Sentri appeals, and requests for prosecutorial discretion

  • Monitor and update case status and deadlines using calendaring systems

  • Maintain regular communication with clients and keep them informed

  • Collaborate with legal staff and attorneys on complex immigration cases

  • Perform administrative duties such as filing, scanning, photocopying, and database organization

  • Represent clients in immigration proceedings and hearings when needed

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in immigration law

  • Familiar with family-based immigration forms
  • Must be bilingual (English and Spanish) with strong verbal and written communication in both languages

  • Availability to work some Saturdays as needed

  • Strong understanding of immigration law procedures, forms, and processes

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in any U.S. state or territory (California preferred)

Skills

  • Excellent legal writing and case analysis abilities

  • Familiarity with USCIS, EOIR, and NVC processes and documentation

  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple deadlines and tasks

  • Strong interpersonal skills and client service orientation

  • Proficiency with legal calendaring and case management software

  • Professional demeanor and attention to detail
