Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Intellectual Property Litigation Associate in Seattle, WA. The ideal candidate will have five to seven years of experience in intellectual property litigation, with a focus on managing complex cases and providing strategic counsel to clients.

Duties

  • Lead management of complex IP litigation in U.S. federal courts and PTAB proceedings.
  • Draft and argue motions, including discovery and summary judgment motions.
  • Take and defend depositions; prepare witnesses for testimony.
  • Oversee fact and expert discovery, including ESI protocols and privilege issues.
  • Develop infringement and invalidity strategies; work with technical experts.
  • Prepare for trial and support trial teams in court.
  • Coordinate damages analyses and assist in settlement negotiations.
  • Provide client counseling on risk and litigation strategy.
  • Supervise and mentor junior associates and paralegals.

Requirements

  • JD from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
  • 5-7 years of IP litigation experience at a leading firm.
  • Experience across all phases of IP litigation; trial experience preferred.
  • Technical background (e.g., electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, physics, biology, chemistry) is preferred.
  • USPTO registration is a plus.
  • Experience with PTAB IPRs and ITC Section 337 investigations is a strong plus.
  • Exceptional legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Proficiency with FRCP, FRE, and e-discovery tools.
  • Proven leadership and project management skills.
  • Admission to at least one U.S. state bar.
