A law firm seeks a seasoned Estate and Tax Planning Attorney with 13 years of experience to develop sophisticated estate plans, guide tax-efficient wealth transfers, and oversee fiduciary administrations for high-net-worth clients.

Duties

• Advise clients on comprehensive estate and tax planning strategies, including wealth preservation and succession planning.
• Draft and review wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, family limited partnerships, and related estate documents.
• Structure and implement charitable giving vehicles, including private foundations and donor-advised funds.
• Coordinate with tax advisors on gift, estate, generation-skipping transfer, and income tax matters.
• Administer probate and trust estates, handling accountings, asset distributions, and beneficiary communications.
• Represent fiduciaries and beneficiaries in estate and trust litigation when necessary.
• Mentor junior attorneys and oversee paralegal staff on file management and document preparation.

Requirements

• Thirteen years of practice in estate planning, tax planning, and fiduciary administration.
• Admission to the New York State Bar and in good standing.
• Demonstrated expertise in federal and New York State estate, gift, and fiduciary income tax regulations.
• Experience advising ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families.
• Strong client development and relationship-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple complex matters under tight deadlines.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in New York State.
• (Preferred) Certificate in Estate Planning or Taxation.
