Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will possess excellent writing and research skills and demonstrate a passion for assisting individuals and businesses. The ability to serve as local counsel in state and federal courts is advantageous. This role offers flexibility with fully remote or hybrid work options available in Richmond, Leesburg, or Vienna, Virginia, or Chicago, Illinois.

Duties

• Draft and review pleadings, memos, briefs, interrogatories, and other legal documents.
• Appear at hearings and trials in both state and federal courts.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Conduct complex legal research and analysis.
• Collaborate in case strategy discussions.
• Communicate and work with local counsel.
• Review and redline contracts.
• Draft and review transactional documents such as purchase and operating agreements.
• Manage day-to-day case activities and maintain client files.

Requirements

• Bar membership in IL, DE, MD, DC, or VA preferred.
• Minimum of two years of litigation experience.
• Proficiency in legal writing and courtroom procedures.
• Familiarity with local practices of state and federal courts.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Bar membership in relevant states preferred.
