Associate Director, Planned Giving, University Advancement

Duties: Manage a portfolio of 100 - 125 gift planning prospects within the alumni, parents, faculty/staff and friend constituencies with a minimum of 15 prospect visits monthly. Identify, cultivate and solicit major and deferred donations. Serve as a resource for members of UA’s fundraising staff in their gift discussions with major and planned potential giving donors. With the support of the AVP and Vice President, the incumbent will maintain an understanding of the technical aspects of planned giving vehicles and the relevant tax and estate consequences of these vehicles. Take an active role in UA’s planned giving training, and provide mentoring and educational resources for major gift officers. Work with the Executive Director of Advancement Operations to ensure that all planned gifts conform to UA standards and recognized practices in the industry. Develop and implement marketing programs that educate University constituencies about planned giving opportunities to encourage a continuous stream of planned giving prospects. Provide support for the Blue and Gold Society, which honors alumni, parents and friends who support the University through documented bequests or other planned gifts and a new society, which will recognize individuals who have supported University for 20 consecutive years or more. Visit Blue and Gold Society members to ensure proper stewardship and confirm intentions are clearly understood. Cultivate and steward financial and legal professionals, build cooperative working relationships, and develop a network for promoting planned gifts to La Salle and sharing advice and information.
