A law firm in Walnut Creek, CA, is seeking a skilled Litigation Attorney to represent clients in civil litigation cases. The candidate will be responsible for conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, confidently representing clients in court, negotiating settlements, and preparing for trial. Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures and practices is required, along with excellent communication and analytical skills.

Duties:

• Represent clients in civil litigation cases, including drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Conduct legal research and gather evidence to support litigation strategies.
• Confidently, intelligently, and passionately represent clients in court proceedings.
• Negotiate settlements and represent clients in mediation or arbitration proceedings.
• Prepare for trial by organizing evidence, interviewing witnesses, and developing case strategies.
• Present arguments in court and advocate for clients during trial.
• Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to ensure effective case management.
• Stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations that may impact ongoing cases.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice law in the State Bar.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Litigation Attorney.
• Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures and practices.
• Proficiency in conducting legal research using Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis databases.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop effective strategies.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Trial experience preferred.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice law in the State Bar.
