Patent Paralegal

The candidate should have 3+ years of patent law experience. Should have intellectual property experience and have previous foreign filing experience and strong computer and research skills. General knowledge of patent filing and patent prosecution rules/regulations is required. Experience using CPI and/or Anaqua docketing software is a plus. Should be detail oriented, highly skilled, flexible and have the ability to prioritize a busy workload. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills required for success. Reviewing and organizing patent files, reviewing docket for deadlines, Prioritizing workload to meet patent foreign filing deadlines and due dates, Preparing and reviewing appropriate correspondence from foreign associates and to clients and associates regarding new patent applications, formal requirements, filing details, etc. Assist in filing of U.S. and PCT patent applications, both electronically and paper (including preparation and review of necessary filing documents),. Extensive knowledge of U.S. patent rules and procedures; knowledge of PCT, and/or national patent laws of other countries. Process Office Actions. File and assist in prosecution of design patent applications,. Track chain of title in U.S. patents and ability to perfect same. Communication with the USPTO and relevant knowledge regarding the USPTO databases. Preparing, maintaining and updating reports for clients regarding status of patent applications and issued patents, including reporting filing receipts for applications, publication notices and forwarding patent certificates.
