Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a senior-level affordable housing associate or counsel with 6+ years of law firm experience to join a nationally recognized Affordable Housing team. This team works with for-profit and nonprofit developers, as well as investors and governmental entities, to develop, acquire, construct, finance, operate, and preserve affordable housing across Texas and other locations nationwide. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of affordable housing transactions, including structuring, negotiating, and drafting related documents.

Duties:
Lead all aspects of affordable housing development and finance transactions, from initial structuring to execution.
Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents related to affordable housing finance, development, and incentives.
Manage project documentation, due diligence, and ensure legal compliance throughout all phases of a project.
Oversee the project management of affordable housing transactions, ensuring timely and effective communication with clients and opposing parties.
Interact directly with clients, handling complex legal issues and advising on business and legal matters related to affordable housing transactions.
Communicate complex legal information clearly and concisely, both in writing and orally, to clients and team members.
Work under pressure, meeting deadlines and managing competing priorities.
Requirements:
6+ years of law firm experience focused on affordable housing transactions, including affordable housing finance, development, and incentives.
Experience handling all aspects of affordable housing development or finance transactions, from structuring to execution.
Proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating transaction documents.
Experience with project management and client interaction in the context of affordable housing transactions.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and collaborate in a team environment.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Education:
J.D. from a nationally recognized and accredited law school.
Strong academic performance.
Certifications:
Admitted to the State Bar in the relevant jurisdiction (TX, OH, or FL, depending on location).
Skills:
Expertise in affordable housing finance, development, and incentives.
Excellent drafting, negotiating, and legal research skills.
Strong organizational and project management abilities.
