A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its Little Rock, Arkansas, office as part of a regional litigation team. The successful candidate will handle civil litigation matters with emphasis on financial services disputes, debtor-creditor and collection actions, and bankruptcy proceedings, managing cases with a combination of independence and collaboration under partner supervision.
Duties
Conduct detailed legal research to inform case strategy and support motion practice
Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and memoranda in civil litigation and bankruptcy matters
Develop litigation strategies and participate in hearings, status conferences, and client meetings
Manage all aspects of case progression, including drafting responses, coordinating document production, and preparing for trials or hearings
Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates on case status, strategy, and next steps
Collaborate with partners and colleagues across offices to leverage firm resources and expertise
Assist in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute‐resolution processes
Maintain organized file management, ensuring compliance with court deadlines and firm procedures
Requirements
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school
Admission to the Arkansas Bar (or eligibility to gain admission within one year of hire)
Minimum of 1 year of experience in civil litigation; familiarity with financial services, debtor-creditor, collections, or commercial litigation preferred
Proficiency in legal research platforms (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and drafting precise legal documents
Demonstrated ability to manage workloads independently while keeping partners and staff informed
Strong written and oral communication skills with a clear, organized style
Capacity to work respectfully and productively in a team‐oriented environment
Education
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited institution
Preferred: judicial clerkship experience or law review participation
Certifications
Active membership in good standing with the Arkansas Bar (or eligibility within one year of hire)
