Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking a talented Associate Attorney to join its Investment Services practice group. Location:

• Chicago, IL

Duties:

• Advise clients on regulatory and compliance matters concerning federal securities laws, including the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Securities Act of 1933

• Serve in lead or key roles on transactions, particularly investment company reorganizations and mergers

• Work with mutual funds, ETFs, closed-end funds, and independent trustees/directors

• Manage multiple legal matters simultaneously with efficiency and professionalism

• Participate in client development and face-to-face engagements with stakeholders

Requirements:

• 4-7 years of experience with registered investment companies and investment advisers and with regulatory and compliance matters regarding federal securities laws, including the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Securities Act of 1933;Demonstrated expertise in handling transactions and regulatory issues under federal securities laws

• Experience working directly with clients and shareholders in a high-volume, team-oriented environment

• Must be admitted and in good standing in the applicable jurisdiction, or in the process of obtaining admission

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

• Strong academic credentials required

Certifications:

• Active bar membership in one of the listed jurisdictions, or eligibility for admission

Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of investment services law and federal securities regulations

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Exceptional legal research and analytical abilities

• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a deadline-driven environment
