A law firm seeks a passionate and driven Civil Rights Associate Attorney to advocate for individuals whose rights have been infringed upon. This role offers the opportunity to engage in impactful litigation, contribute to legal precedent, and work closely with clients from diverse backgrounds. The ideal candidate possesses litigation experience, a keen analytical mind, and a commitment to advancing civil rights through strategic legal action.
Conduct thorough legal research to evaluate potential civil rights cases.
Manage civil rights litigation from inception to resolution, including drafting pleadings, overseeing discovery, and preparing motions.
Take and defend depositions, as well as represent clients in court proceedings.
Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal teams to develop case strategies.
Engage with clients from varied backgrounds, including incarcerated individuals, ensuring their legal needs are met.
Stay updated on evolving civil rights laws and contribute to legal precedent through advocacy.
Active license to practice law.
2-5 years of litigation experience, preferably in civil rights or constitutional law.
Strong legal research and writing skills, particularly in drafting complex motions and case law analysis.
Experience in handling depositions, court hearings, and appeals.
Deep commitment to civil rights advocacy and legal reform.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a legal team.
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
Admission to the Bar in good standing.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently.
Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
Strong interpersonal skills, particularly in working with diverse clients.
