Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in Nashville is seeking an Associate Attorney to join their General Liability Practice Group. This is a great opportunity for an attorney with 3-10 years of experience in General Liability defense. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in defending a wide variety of general liability claims, including auto, premises liability, medical malpractice, and assisted living/long-term care cases. Duties:

• Review and prepare medical record summaries to advocate for clients
• Draft motions and attend hearings to represent clients in court
• Prepare clients for depositions and attend depositions as required
• Draft initial reports, interim reports, pre-trial reports, trial documents, and appellate briefs
• Respond to discovery requests and draft discovery-related motions
• Regularly attend court appearances to ensure the best outcomes for clients
• Take and defend depositions of fact witnesses and expert witnesses

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice in the State of Tennessee
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to handle complex legal matters
• Proficient in legal research and possess strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience in drafting and responding to discovery-related motions
• Ability to attend court appearances regularly
• Proven ability to take and defend depositions of both fact and expert witnesses
• Experience drafting motions for summary judgment

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Tennessee State Bar Admission

Skills:

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Effective legal writing and communication skills
• Knowledge of legal research methods and case law analysis
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team setting
