Litigation Associate Attorney

A growing civil litigation law firm in Tampa, FL, is seeking a motivated and experienced Litigation Associate Attorney to join its team. This full-time, in-office position offers an opportunity for professional growth and a competitive salary. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience, excellent research and writing skills, and the ability to manage a diverse caseload. The successful candidate will handle cases from inception through resolution and be involved in trial litigation, mediation, and defense strategies.

Location:

Duties:

• Handle diverse civil litigation caseload, managing cases from inception through resolution
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy, motions, and client advisories
• Draft pleadings, motions, and court filings in compliance with procedural rules
• Draft and review discovery responses, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admissions
• Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
• Attend hearings, representing clients professionally and confidently
• Participate in mediations and settlement discussions, advocating for favorable outcomes
• Stay updated with legal developments, procedural rules, and industry trends relevant to defense litigation
• Collaborate with the legal team to develop case strategies and ensure adherence to firm standards
• Exhibit excellent time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Active Florida Bar License in good standing
• Proven experience in personal injury law
• Experience handling litigation cases from inception to resolution

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active Florida Bar License

Skills:

• Knowledge of insurance defense case law
• Experience in trial litigation preparation and handling
• Billing experience of at least 150 hours per month
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues
• Proficiency in technology, including Microsoft Office and legal research tools
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy in work
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Strong negotiation skills for advocating clients’ interests
