Litigation Paralegal

The candidate will be responsible for performing legal research and summarizing results. Preparing cases for hearings, mediations, and trials. Communicating with clients and other parties to provide updates and collect information; answering basic questions about the case status. Filling out legal forms. Drafting indexes, chronologies, case summaries, contracts, letters, reports, case management statements, deposition notices, motions, oppositions to motions, responses to orders to show cause, notices of settlement, requests for dismissal, mediation briefs, and other litigation documents. Managing discovery: preparing and organizing discovery and responses to discovery demands. Overseeing the resolution of liens. Handling all aspects of the pre-litigation process other than negotiating settlements. Scheduling and updating case events in Deadlines.com (docketing software). Monitoring case progress, deadlines, and important timeframes/milestones. Maintaining and organizing files. Managing client relationships and working with experts. Updating matter information in Clio (law practice management software). Entering billable and non-billable time in Clio. Assisting lawyers in the courtroom.
