Job Overview:
A prominent law firm with a strong Northeast presence is seeking a skilled Associate Attorney to join its Business Litigation team. This hybrid opportunity offers the chance to engage in a wide variety of complex commercial litigation matters, working closely with a collaborative legal team and diverse clientele. The role is best suited for a mid-level litigator who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and is committed to excellence in legal advocacy.

Location:

• Hartford, CT

Duties:

• Represent clients in courtroom proceedings, mediations, and arbitrations

• Take and defend depositions

• Conduct factual and legal research and strategize with senior attorneys

• Draft memoranda, pleadings, discovery demands/responses, motions, and briefs

• Analyze records and transactions related to business disputes and investigate potential client claims

• Work across a range of commercial litigation areas

• Collaborate with attorneys in other departments to provide comprehensive legal solutions

• Maintain a minimum of 1,800 billable hours annually

Requirements:

• 4–7 years of litigation experience

• Experience with complex commercial litigation and/or bankruptcy preferred

• Familiarity with Connecticut State and Federal Court procedures

• Strong legal research and writing ability

• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

• Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail

• Effective oral and written communication skills

• A team player with a professional, positive, and flexible attitude

• Ability to adapt quickly to new information and challenges

• Prior judicial clerkship experience preferred

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the State of Connecticut (required)

• Admission to the New York and/or Massachusetts bar (preferred)

Skills:

• High-level legal writing and research capabilities

• Litigation strategy and deposition experience
