An elite law firm with a top-ranked Privacy & Cybersecurity practice is seeking a mid-level associate with 4 to 7 years of experience in health care privacy and general privacy law. The successful candidate will provide strategic legal counsel to clients, including advising on product development, drafting privacy documentation, and managing compliance across federal, state, and international data protection frameworks. The position involves working with cutting-edge clients across digital health, AI, cybersecurity, and other technology-driven industries.

Advise clients on privacy compliance during product and service development
Draft and update privacy policies, procedures, consent forms, and notifications
Interpret and apply federal and state health care privacy laws
Counsel clients on consumer data privacy practices
Draft and negotiate privacy-related agreements, including BAAs, DPAs, and DUAs
Conduct privacy compliance assessments
Draft communications related to data security incidents
Support data breach response and regulatory investigations
Advise on adtech and data use (preferred but not mandatory)
4–7 years of relevant legal experience in privacy law
Strong understanding of U.S. federal and state privacy regulations
Experience counseling clients in the tech or life sciences sectors
Admission to the State Bar, or eligibility to sit for the next bar exam
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong academic background and professional references
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Active bar membership, or eligibility to sit for the relevant bar exam
Knowledge of U.S. health care privacy laws, including:
HIPAA, CMIA, Washington My Health My Data Act, Nevada SB 370
Familiarity with federal privacy laws:
GLBA, FCRA, COPPA, FTC Act
Understanding of state-level laws such as CCPA
Experience with international privacy regimes, especially GDPR
Ability to navigate technology and data flows in legal contexts
Proficiency in privacy risk analysis, policy drafting, and contract negotiation
Strong legal research and compliance strategy capabilities
Exposure to adtech privacy issues (a plus)
