A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Newport News, VA, to manage legal matters from inception through post-judgment remedies. This primarily remote role requires occasional in-person court appearances and meetings. Duties

• Conducts exceptional legal research, writing, and oral communication.
• Manages a high-volume caseload, providing expert legal and regulatory analysis.
• Negotiates with opposing counsel to resolve cases.
• Travels to various courts within Virginia as needed for legal proceedings.
• Collaborates with the Managing Attorney to report activities and results.

Requirements

• 0-3 years' experience in bankruptcy/collection or civil law litigation.
• J.D. from an accredited law school with an active license to practice in VA.
• License to practice in other states or UBE passage is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exemplary oral and written communication skills.
• Outstanding time management skills.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in VA.
