Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking a Junior Project Development Associate Attorney to join its expanding team in the Project Development Practice Area. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with seasoned professionals in a multidisciplinary environment on a variety of projects throughout the Northeast. The role is primarily based in Syracuse, NY, though remote work options may be considered.

Duties:

• Assist in managing and advising clients on project development matters, including commercial and financial transactions, and real estate transactions.
• Participate in land use, zoning, and real property tax issues.
• Support senior attorneys in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts and agreements.
• Conduct legal research and prepare reports on regulatory matters.
• Represent clients in negotiations with external stakeholders, including municipalities, developers, and financial institutions.
• Provide legal guidance to clients on various aspects of project development.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in project development, commercial transactions, or real estate law.
• A strong understanding of land use and zoning laws is a plus.
• Proven experience in financial transactions and project finance is advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar, or eligibility for admission through reciprocity or examination.

Skills:

• Expertise in project development, commercial transactions, and real estate law.
• Familiarity with land use, zoning, and real property tax issues.
• Strong legal writing and research abilities.
• Proficient in negotiation and drafting of complex agreements.
