A leading personal injury law firm is seeking a skilled and client-focused Pre-Litigation Attorney to join its Kansas City office. This in-office position offers a rewarding opportunity for an experienced attorney to manage a high-volume caseload while working alongside a dedicated team of paralegals and legal assistants. The role focuses on case evaluation, client communication, negotiation, and resolution, with the ultimate goal of achieving favorable settlements for injury victims prior to litigation.

Location:

• Kansas City, Missouri

Duties:

• Manage a caseload of approximately 150 active personal injury cases

• Act as primary legal contact for clients, ensuring clear, empathetic, and ongoing communication

• Evaluate liability, damages, and case value for effective settlement positioning

• Monitor client medical treatment to support injury documentation and damages claims

• Draft compelling demand letters emphasizing liability, medical impact, and damages

• Negotiate settlements with insurance adjusters

• Address insurance coverage disputes and handle policy limit demands

• Provide legal counsel to clients on settlement offers and strategic decisions

• Collaborate with litigation attorneys on cases that transition beyond pre-litigation

• Manage lien resolution and subrogation issues to maximize client recovery

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years' experience handling motor vehicle accident claims in a pre-litigation setting

• Ability to handle high-volume caseload efficiently and with strong attention to detail

• Strong client service ethic and ability to manage sensitive conversations professionally

• Prior experience dealing with medical providers and insurance adjusters

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in Missouri and Illinois (required)

• Kansas licensure is a plus
