Duties

• Counsel clients on construction contracts, surety claims, and indemnity issues
• Lead litigation in state and federal courts, as well as arbitration and mediation forums
• Draft and negotiate design-build, EPC, subcontractor, and supply agreements
• Conduct risk assessments and due diligence for construction-related transactions
• Manage pre-litigation dispute resolution, including claims preparation and presentation
• Coordinate with project teams, including architects, engineers, and consultants
• Supervise associates and paralegals, ensuring quality control and adherence to deadlines

Requirements

• 21 years of construction law practice experience
• Admission to the New York State Bar, in good standing
• Proven track record in handling high-value construction claims and transactional matters
• Familiarity with AIA, ConsensusDOCS, and other standard industry forms
• Strong client relationship management and business development capabilities
• Ability to juggle multiple matters under tight timelines

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in New York State
• (Preferred) Certification in Construction Law or Dispute Resolution
