A law firm seeks an experienced Business Immigration Attorney to join its team in Chicago, Illinois. The ideal candidate will have six years of experience providing legal counsel on a wide range of employment-based immigration matters. This role involves working closely with corporate clients to manage complex immigration cases, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, and supporting business operations through effective legal strategies.

Duties

• Advise corporate clients on employment-based immigration strategies and compliance.
• Prepare and file petitions and applications for employment-based visas, including H-1B, L-1, O-1, TN, and PERM labor certifications.
• Provide counsel on I-9 compliance, E-Verify, and related regulatory matters.
• Draft and review legal documents, including petitions, responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs), and supporting materials.
• Represent clients before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Department of Labor (DOL), and other government agencies.
• Stay current on changes to immigration laws, policies, and procedures.
• Work closely with HR professionals and corporate management to support workforce mobility.
• Manage client relationships with professionalism and responsiveness.

Requirements

• 6 years of experience practicing business immigration law.
• Demonstrated expertise in handling complex employment-based immigration matters.
• Strong understanding of federal immigration regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong client service and relationship-building skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in Illinois, in good standing.
