Job Overview:
A law firm based in Berwyn, IL, is actively seeking a seasoned Immigration Attorney to join its legal team through a specialized recruitment partner. This position focuses on providing zealous representation in removal defense and humanitarian immigration relief. The role demands strong litigation experience, an unwavering commitment to immigrant rights, and the flexibility to travel for hearings and client matters. This is an in-office position with nationwide impact.

Duties:

• Represent clients before immigration courts and USCIS across a variety of matters.

• Handle Individual Calendar Hearings (ICH), Master Calendar Hearings (MCH), and bond hearings.

• Conduct USCIS interviews and participate in related post-conviction and humanitarian proceedings.

• Prepare and litigate removal defense cases involving a range of immigration relief strategies.

• Draft motions, legal briefs, and appeals with precision and legal clarity.

• Assess and submit applications for T and U visas, VAWA petitions, adjustment of status, naturalization, PIP, waivers, and more.

• Stay informed on evolving immigration laws, procedures, and regulatory changes.

• Collaborate closely with legal support teams to coordinate case strategy and execution.

• Communicate proactively with clients regarding case updates and legal advice.

• Attend hearings and meetings as needed, including travel to the firm's central office in Seattle, WA.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in immigration litigation.

• Demonstrated courtroom advocacy in removal defense.

• A background in criminal or juvenile matters is advantageous.

• Proficiency in both English and Spanish is required.

• Strong organizational skills to manage high caseloads under time-sensitive conditions.

• Exceptional written and verbal legal communication.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active law license in good standing.

• Admission to the Bar in Illinois, Florida, or Washington is preferred.
