Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for a fully remote position based in Columbia, MO. The role offers extensive courtroom experience through regular appearances and involves managing a contested litigation queue. The attorney will review claims, pleadings, and support all litigation aspects, gaining comprehensive knowledge of court procedures and firm policies. This position has no billable hour requirements.

Duties

• Appear in court on behalf of the firm at least three days per week.
• Review new claims for compliance with firm and client standards.
• Review and approve pleadings filed with the courts.
• Draft motions and responses for contested matters as needed.
• Argue contested motions and conduct trials and arbitrations.
• Manage communication with opposing counsel.
• Prepare and respond to discovery or oversee counterclaims.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate and admission to the Missouri Bar required.
• Additional licenses in other states where the firm operates are valuable.

• Juris Doctorate

Certifications

• Admission to the Missouri Bar

Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience with Collection Master or equivalent systems preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
• Demonstrated tact, discretion, and courtesy.
• Ability to work independently and manage timelines.
