A law firm seeks an Associate Patent Attorney in Alexandria, VA. The candidate will join a growing patent prosecution practice, working with industry leaders in semiconductor manufacturing, telecommunication, and circuit design. The role involves direct client interaction and comprehensive patent drafting and prosecution, supported by senior professionals.

Duties

• Draft patent applications based on invention disclosures.
• Conduct inventor interviews.
• Communicate with clients.
• Review and analyze Office Actions.
• Draft Amendments/Responses for Office Actions.
• Accept feedback from supervising Associates and Partners.
• Ensure timely communication and completion of tasks.

Requirements

• At least two years of experience in patent prosecution, including drafting 20 US patent applications.
• Experience in semiconductor and circuit technology.
• Versatility in other technical areas is a plus.

Education

• BA/BS required; Electrical Engineering or Chemical Engineering degree preferred.

Certifications

• Registered Patent Attorney.

Skills

• Outstanding writing ability and attention to detail.
• Ability to learn and understand technology.
• Mandarin language capability is a plus.
