Litigation Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm specializing in litigation seeks an experienced litigation attorney to join its team in Kansas City, MO. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in all aspects of litigation, including managing cases independently and leading trial proceedings.

Duties:

• Manage a caseload from inception through trial and appeal, if necessary.
• Serve as lead counsel in litigation matters, including conducting legal research and drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Represent clients in court hearings, arbitration, mediation, and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
• Prepare for and participate in bench and jury trials, with preferable first chair experience.
• Provide strategic legal advice to clients throughout the litigation process.
• Collaborate effectively with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in Missouri and Kansas.
• Minimum of 5+ years of litigation experience in a law firm setting.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Demonstrated experience as lead counsel in litigation matters.
• Portable business is preferred but not required.
