Duties:

• Represent clients in court hearings, trials, and depositions, ensuring a strong defense.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and provide strategic advice tailored to clients’ needs.
• Draft and prepare contracts, pleadings, briefs, and appeals.
• Engage in settlement negotiations, using persuasive advocacy and creative solutions.
• Maintain a client-focused approach, offering compassionate and clear communication throughout the legal process.

Requirements:

• Active membership with the Maine State Bar (Federal Bar membership is a plus).
• Willingness to seek reciprocal admission to the Maine Bar if relocating.
• Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in criminal law, particularly in courtroom settings.
• Excellent research, writing, and negotiation abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on client relationships.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership with the Maine State Bar (Federal Bar certification is a plus).
