Job Title: Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A respected law firm based in Springfield, IL is seeking a driven and detail-oriented litigation associate with a focus on personal injury and elder care law. This role involves managing a dynamic caseload with an emphasis on both pre-suit negotiation and formal litigation. The associate will collaborate with legal support staff and play a vital role in advocating for clients who have experienced injury or neglect. Duties:

• Manage a growing docket of personal injury and nursing home abuse/neglect cases from intake through resolution

• Conduct client interviews and maintain regular contact throughout the case lifecycle

• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses

• Handle all aspects of discovery, including depositions and document review

• Prepare for and participate in mediations, hearings, and trials

• Supervise and coordinate tasks with assigned support staff and legal assistants

• Collaborate with attorneys, adjusters, and other legal professionals

• Maintain organized case files and comply with internal litigation protocols

• Uphold firm values and contribute to a collaborative, high-performance legal team environment

Requirements:

• Active license to practice law in the State of Illinois

• 1-3 years of experience handling personal injury or elder care cases

• Familiarity with civil litigation procedures and court rules

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines

• Strong legal research and writing skills

• High attention to detail and organizational capability

• Strong interpersonal skills and client service mindset

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Must be licensed and in good standing with the Illinois State Bar

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal drafting, client communication, and litigation strategy

• Skilled in using legal research databases and case management software

• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities

• Comfortable in both remote and in-person work settings

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
