A leading regional law firm is actively seeking a full-time Patent Agent with a focus on biotechnology and pharmaceutical patent prosecution. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong life sciences background and a minimum of two years of relevant experience. The position offers the opportunity to work with a collaborative and innovative Intellectual Property team serving clients in the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors. The role is based in the Pacific Northwest and offers hybrid work flexibility.

Prepare and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications in the fields of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals
Advise clients on patent strategy and portfolio development
Conduct due diligence and freedom-to-operate analyses
Draft legal opinions related to patentability, infringement, validity, and enforceability
Collaborate with attorneys and agents across multiple offices
Provide client counseling in IP matters related to life sciences innovations
Minimum 2 years of experience in biotech/pharmaceutical patent prosecution
Ability to manage client relationships and handle matters independently
Strong client service orientation and ability to work within a team-based environment
For agents: USPTO registration required
Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in biology, biochemistry, immunology, molecular biology, or related field
Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (required for all candidates)
Strong writing and communication skills
Excellent academic credentials and professional references
Demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects
