Job Overview
A law firm seeks an associate with three years of experience to join their Technology Transactions team in Portland. This role provides an opportunity to collaborate with seasoned advisors, supporting life sciences and tech companies in developing IP strategies and facilitating key agreements.

Duties

• Contribute to drafting, reviewing, and negotiating collaboration, partnering, and licensing agreements.
• Assist with drafting and negotiating foundational agreements for life sciences companies, including university licenses and clinical trial agreements.
• Advise clients on corporate partnerships, strategic alliances, and aspects of product research and commercialization.
• Develop and implement intellectual property strategies for clients in innovation-driven sectors.
• Support IP commercialization efforts and manage related processes.
• Conduct research and analysis on diverse technologies such as biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and digital health.
• Navigate IP and technology aspects of venture capital financings, public offerings, and M&A transactions.

Requirements

• Three years of legal experience in intellectual property transactions with a focus on life sciences.
• Interest in expanding practice to include tech transactions in AI, fintech, and other emerging areas.
• Excellent research, analytical, drafting, and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Education

• JD is required; life sciences related education is a bonus.

Certifications

• Admission to the bar in the state of residence.
