Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Land Use Attorney in Seattle, Washington. The successful candidate will work with sophisticated clients and assist in transitioning long-standing relationships from senior partners. Collaboration is key, and while an existing partial book of business is welcome, it is not required.

Duties

• Appear before hearing examiners, planning commissions, and courts.
• Draft and supervise the drafting of legal briefs.
• Conduct land use due diligence and permitting.
• Write due diligence and client advice memos.
• Communicate strategically with local government officials.
• Draft and amend code provisions at city and county levels.
• Maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
• Engage in professional interactions using critical thinking skills.
• Supervise junior attorneys, legal assistants, and paralegals.

Requirements

• Undergraduate and JD degrees from accredited institutions.
• Current WSBA membership.
• At least 8 years of experience as a Pacific Northwest land use attorney.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Membership with the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA).
