The candidate will oversee the efforts of multiple client services teams on client engagements; plan, execute, direct, and complete tax consulting projects in a wide variety of industries to a diverse client base including financial sponsors and strategic buyers and sellers; provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to clients. Will market, sell, design, and implement tax-planning strategies to both new and existing Firm clients and manage all financial aspects of projects, including budgeting, invoicing, and collection. Develop relationships with the Firm’s senior-level client-serving professionals both in the candidate’s local office and in other offices throughout the region; ability to work closely with the Firm’s Tax Services professionals, as well as colleagues in the audit and advisory service lines. Develop and maintain new business and client relationships, both with existing Firm clients and new clients. Manage, develop, train, and mentor staff on tax projects and assess performance for engagement and year-end reviews. Conduct a primary and secondary review of complicated or complex income tax returns including Corporate, S-Corp., partnership, and individual clients. Interact closely with assigned tax clients to provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to clients while managing the client assignments to budget. Evaluate the tax aspects of partnership agreements and manage the client's Internal Revenue Code (IRC) 704b accounts. Direct and monitor the state tax compliance and composite filing activities. Work closely with tax partners and other tax staff on client management, practice development, and business development activities. Maintain active communication with clients to manage their expectations, ensure client satisfaction, make sure deadlines are met, and lead change efforts effectively. Consult, collaborate and service clients to make recommendations on business and process improvements, and serve as a business adviser to clients. Perform other duties as assigned.
