Job Title: Corporate Aviation Of Counsel
Job Overview:
A New York City-based law firm is seeking an experienced legal professional with deep expertise in corporate aviation transactions. This opportunity is ideal for a senior-level attorney with extensive hands-on experience in structuring, negotiating, and managing private and commercial aircraft deals, including complex regulatory and operational matters. The role involves representing a wide range of high-profile clients, including corporations, international airlines, leasing entities, financial institutions, and ultra-high-net-worth individuals.
Duties:
Lead and manage sophisticated corporate aviation transactions from inception to closing
Represent clients in the acquisition, financing, and leasing of both commercial and personal aircraft
Advise on FAA compliance, registration, title, and regulatory matters
Handle agreements related to aircraft customization, maintenance, and operations
Provide legal counsel on multi-jurisdictional tax implications associated with aircraft ownership and use
Serve as the primary legal advisor on high-value aviation matters involving both U.S. and international clients
Draft and negotiate aircraft purchase agreements, management agreements, leases, and other related documentation
Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to ensure seamless transactional execution
Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate aviation law with an emphasis on transactions
Demonstrated ability to operate independently and provide sophisticated legal guidance to clients
Admission to the New York State Bar (active and in good standing)
Strong working knowledge of aviation regulatory frameworks, including FAA regulations
Prior experience managing high-net-worth and institutional client relationships
A portable book of business is advantageous, but not required
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school
Certifications:
Admission to the Bar in New York (required)

Exceptional contract drafting, negotiation, and communication abilities
Strategic mindset with commercial acumen in advising on large-scale deals
