Job Title: Corporate Aviation Of Counsel

Job Overview:
A New York City-based law firm is seeking an experienced legal professional with deep expertise in corporate aviation transactions. This opportunity is ideal for a senior-level attorney with extensive hands-on experience in structuring, negotiating, and managing private and commercial aircraft deals, including complex regulatory and operational matters. The role involves representing a wide range of high-profile clients, including corporations, international airlines, leasing entities, financial institutions, and ultra-high-net-worth individuals.

Duties:

• Lead and manage sophisticated corporate aviation transactions from inception to closing

• Represent clients in the acquisition, financing, and leasing of both commercial and personal aircraft

• Advise on FAA compliance, registration, title, and regulatory matters

• Handle agreements related to aircraft customization, maintenance, and operations

• Provide legal counsel on multi-jurisdictional tax implications associated with aircraft ownership and use

• Serve as the primary legal advisor on high-value aviation matters involving both U.S. and international clients

• Draft and negotiate aircraft purchase agreements, management agreements, leases, and other related documentation

• Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to ensure seamless transactional execution

Requirements:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate aviation law with an emphasis on transactions

• Demonstrated ability to operate independently and provide sophisticated legal guidance to clients

• Admission to the New York State Bar (active and in good standing)

• Strong working knowledge of aviation regulatory frameworks, including FAA regulations

• Prior experience managing high-net-worth and institutional client relationships

• A portable book of business is advantageous, but not required

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Bar in New York (required)

• Exceptional contract drafting, negotiation, and communication abilities

• Strategic mindset with commercial acumen in advising on large-scale deals
