Insurance Attorney

Profile

A law firm in New York City is seeking an Insurance Attorney to join their team. The attorney will be responsible for providing legal counsel and representation to clients in insurance-related matters. This role requires strong communication, research, and organizational skills, as well as a dedication to excellent client service.

Duties:

• Provide legal advice and representation to clients in insurance-related matters.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on insurance coverage issues.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and contracts.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance carriers.
• Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and court proceedings.
• Stay current on developments in insurance law and regulations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the NY State Bar.
• 3-6 years of related practice experience, with a focus on insurance coverage.
• Experience with Directors & Officers (D&O), Errors & Omissions (E&O), Cyber, Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI), and other lines of commercial insurance.
• Knowledge of Representations & Warranties (R&W) insurance is a plus.
• Regulatory expertise in insurance law is welcomed.

Certifications:

Admission to the NY State Bar.
