Job Overview

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a mid-to-senior level attorney to join its Mergers & Acquisitions Clearance Team. This position focuses on regulatory antitrust compliance, particularly related to the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act (HSR Act) and international merger control processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in antitrust or competition law with a focus on M&A clearance, and an interest in supporting private equity and corporate clients through complex regulatory filings and analyses.

Location

Duties

• Assess HSR reportability and oversee preparation of HSR filings

• Coordinate with clients, corporate teams, and opposing counsel to manage filing logistics

• Support compliance with international merger control in coordination with European colleagues

• Provide antitrust counsel related to M&A transactions, including private equity deals

• Assist with Second Request responses and general competitor transaction analysis

• Collaborate with other team members and antitrust partners to ensure compliance and strategic support

• Engage in regulatory counseling, not litigation

Requirements

• 3–9 years of experience in antitrust/competition law with a focus on M&A clearance

• Experience with HSR Act compliance, filings, and related regulatory processes

• Background in regulatory or corporate M&A work, or private equity-related transactions (preferred)

• Strong command of regulatory antitrust frameworks in both U.S. and global contexts

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications

• Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar

• Eligibility for admission in applicable jurisdiction, if not already admitted

Skills

• Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills

• Meticulous attention to detail in regulatory and transactional matters

• Ability to manage multiple filings and workstreams on tight deadlines

• Strong collaboration and organizational skills

• Interest and ability to quickly gain expertise in complex merger control regimes
