Senior Litigation Paralegal
The candidate will work closely with the Litigation Associates and Partners in Silicon Valley office to finalize legal briefs, prepare filings, help collect, preserve, and manage electronic and hard copy documents, primarily in connection with the securities litigation practice. Key Responsibilities and Deliverables: Perform substantive cite-checking and extensive Bluebooking of attorney written work product including client memoranda, court filings (including briefs), ABA publications, and scholarly articles). Prepare court filings, productions and other materials. Responsible for overall case file maintenance, including indexing and filing case materials. Manage hard copy and electronic case documents, including managing email and electronic files and preparing binders of hard copy documents. Proofread and edit attorney work product for accuracy (i.e. grammar, usage, and content). Research current events and perform key word searches on Lexis and other news data bases. Develop expertise and manage document review tools like Relativity, including the ability to prepare sets of documents to be produced, perform key-term searches over the data, and train other team members. Research and analyze new tools and software for firm use. Liaise with other office support staff across offices to ensure efficacy of workflow. Liaise with and supervise temporary personnel. Assist Paralegal Manager with case logistics, staffing needs and the implementation of best practices. Assist Manager of E-Discovery Services with case specific projects (including document productions and document analytics). Participates in training and the professional development of paralegals. Other responsibilities as assigned. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree. 10+ years of experience as a paralegal, ideally in the litigation department of a large firm (preferably in California). Significant securities litigation experience. Working and extensive knowledge of California and federal courts (knowledge of Delaware Court of Chancery a plus).
