Civil Litigation Attorney

Profile

A law firm in Riverside is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney with 4+ years of practical civil litigation experience. The ideal candidate will have a JD from an ABA-Approved law school with excellent academic credentials and current California Bar admission in good standing.

Duties:

• Manage cases from inception through trial, including preparation of pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Conduct legal research, analysis, and writing.
• Manage discovery process, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
• Take and defend depositions of parties and witnesses.
• Represent clients in court proceedings and hearings.
• Negotiate settlements and engage in alternative dispute resolution.
• Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on civil litigation matters.
• Utilize electronic discovery platforms effectively.
• Public entity defense litigation experience is a plus.

Requirements:

• JD from an ABA-Approved law school with excellent academic credentials.
• Current California Bar admission is in good standing.
• 4+ years of practical civil litigation experience.
• 3 years of trial experience is required; jury trial experience is a plus.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-Approved law school.
• Admission to the California State Bar.

Skills:

• Excellent writing, research, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and electronic discovery platforms.
• Ability to manage cases independently and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
