Mid-Level Litigation Attorney (Hybrid Role)
Job Overview:
A Los Angeles-based law firm with a diverse client portfolio, including global enterprises, is seeking a mid-level attorney to handle a wide range of litigation matters. The ideal candidate will possess at least five years of California-based litigation experience and be equipped to navigate complex legal issues across industries. This role involves direct involvement in trial preparation, legal drafting, negotiations, and strategic client interaction within a collaborative legal team.
Duties:
Represent clients in civil litigation across various stages, including motion practice, discovery, and trial
Draft, edit, and analyze legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and memoranda
Conduct in-depth legal research to support litigation strategies
Participate in court hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials
Maintain active communication with clients, opposing parties, and legal teams
Support senior legal professionals in refining litigation approaches
Effectively manage competing deadlines across multiple active matters
Remain current with updates in procedural rules and substantive law
Requirements:
Minimum of five (5) years of litigation experience in California
Admitted and in good standing with the California Bar
Demonstrated capability to manage litigation matters with minimal oversight
High-level proficiency in legal writing and verbal advocacy
Prior experience in multicultural or international client settings is preferred
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active licensure with the California State Bar
Skills:
Strong legal research and analytical reasoning abilities
Precision in written communication and drafting
Confident oral communication, especially in adversarial settings
Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks across case timelines
Capable of working independently and collaboratively within legal teams
Proficiency in Mandarin is a plus, though not essential
Trial experience as first or second chair is advantageous
Exposure to federal court practice is helpful
A recent writing sample may be requested during the interview process
