Duties

• Manage medical malpractice cases from notice of intent through trial and appeal.
• Analyze medical records and collaborate with medical experts to develop case strategies.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and trial documents.
• Take and defend fact and expert witness depositions.
• Communicate with clients to provide updates and gather information.
• Attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials as needed.
• Consult with healthcare clients to provide legal advice and case strategy insights.
• Collaborate with medical providers and experts to develop effective case theories.

Requirements

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice in Florida.
• 2-5 years of medical malpractice plaintiff or defense experience.
• Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently and work under deadlines.
• Experience with legal software and case management systems is a plus.

Education

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to practice law in Florida.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and standards of care.
• Experience with settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Previous judicial clerkship or trial experience.
• Experience in collaborating with medical expert witnesses.
