Job Overview:
A reputable law firm based in Stockton, CA is looking to expand its legal team with a mid-level associate specializing in estate planning and related matters. This role offers the opportunity to engage with clients on complex estate structures, lead trust and probate administration, and contribute to transactional work involving entities and real property. Ideal candidates will bring strong interpersonal skills, technical proficiency, and a collaborative mindset to a high-volume practice.

Duties:

• Prepare a wide range of estate planning documents, including:

  • Revocable and irrevocable trusts

  • Wills

  • Trust administration documents

  • Probate filings

• Conduct consultations with clients to identify planning objectives and explain legal strategies

• Guide trust and estate administration processes from start to finish

• Oversee paralegals and administrative staff on document preparation and case progression

• Collaborate with colleagues on matters involving business entities and real estate

• Perform legal research and ensure ongoing compliance with estate and tax laws

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in estate planning, trust administration, and probate matters

• Prior exposure to business and real estate transactions preferred

• Strong command of client communication and issue-spotting in complex estate structures

• Familiarity with California trust and probate law essential

• Comfortable managing a dynamic caseload in a fast-paced environment

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• LL.M. in Taxation highly desirable

Skills:

• Advanced drafting and analytical capabilities

• High level of professional judgment and discretion

• Effective written and verbal communication

• Ability to manage team members and work collaboratively across departments

• Confident handling of client interactions and strategic discussions
