Duties

• Independently manage a litigation caseload, including high-exposure and complex matters

• Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and memoranda

• Attend and conduct court hearings, depositions, and mediations

• Collaborate with attorneys across departments and offices

• Develop case strategies aligned with client goals

• Communicate with clients, providing regular updates and counsel

• Contribute to legal strategy discussions and mentoring of junior attorneys (if applicable)

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in defense litigation

• Experience in general liability, personal injury, premises liability, transportation, products liability, or insurance defense

• Proficiency in drafting discovery and pretrial motions

• Courtroom experience, including depositions and trial preparation, preferred

• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload efficiently

• Strong commitment to client service and ethical legal practice

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the state of Tennessee
