Associate Attorney needed for Los Angeles office

Job Overview: A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its growing Probate Litigation division. This position offers an exciting opportunity for candidates with a few years of litigation experience, who are eager to grow and gain direct client contact and courtroom experience. 

Location:

• Los Angeles, CA

Duties:

• Conduct legal research and prepare motions, pleadings, and briefs.
• Represent clients in court, arguing motions during legal proceedings.
• Counsel clients by assessing their options and determining the best course of action.
• Draft legal correspondence, pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Oversee administrative tasks related to client invoicing, billing records, and scheduling client meetings.

Requirements:

• Over 1 year of litigation experience, with a focus on representing clients in a law firm setting.
• Strong knowledge of legal research tools, including Westlaw and LexisNexis.
• Ability to manage a heavy caseload independently.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active member of the local bar association is preferred.

• Effective public speaking and courtroom skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously while managing a busy caseload.
