Senior Corporate Counsel
The candidate will represent the organization in legal claims, lawsuits, and litigation. Advises and consults with managers and departments on legal issues. Educate internal clients on proactive measures and approaches to reduce potential legal exposure. Duties : Receive and review all company legal disputes, including employment-related litigation and administrative claims. Research complex disputes, including providing legal responses, evaluating litigation costs, developing litigation strategies, and overseeing the resolution of disputes. Responds to state and federal complaints. Works with outside counsel on pleadings, discovery, motions, mediations, and trials. Provides recommendations on further litigation or settlement. Conducts internal and external investigations. Responds to formal complaints and charges. Provide in-depth legal advice and strategic support to internal clients on employment law issues related to recruiting, hiring, reorganizations, compensation, benefits, diversity programs, employee classifications, and other employment-related matters. Draft and reviews employment documents, including contracts, policies and procedures, and non-solicitation letters. Develop litigation tools. Oversees the matter management system and ensures activity reporting is presented to senior management. Retain and manages outside counsel. Oversees strategy, reviews invoices, and manages deadlines. Achieve planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience. May recommend/make decisions regarding new programs/initiatives that have significant impact to the business and carry consequences in unsuccessful endeavors. Manage a larger team or multiple small teams through direction of subordinate management and/or supervisory staff.
