A national law firm with a strong presence in the creditors’ rights and financial services industry is seeking a Bankruptcy Attorney to support its expanding default servicing operations. This role involves handling a portfolio of bankruptcy cases, attending hearings, advising internal staff and institutional clients, and ensuring compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with experience in bankruptcy practice who is passionate about efficiency, client service, and legal excellence.

Location:

• Tallahassee, FL

Duties:

• Attend and manage bankruptcy hearings and coordinate with local appearance counsel

• Provide real-time hearing outcomes to internal teams and clients

• Manage bankruptcy case portfolios and ensure timely updates to internal and external systems

• Monitor dockets and escalate actionable items

• Conduct quality control of legal documents to ensure compliance with court and client standards

• Maintain updated drafting templates aligned with local and federal procedural rules

• Provide legal guidance to internal staff and respond to loan-level inquiries

• Develop training tools and support internal staff development

• Coordinate with leadership to address process improvements and legal risk mitigation

• Respond to client inquiries and offer legal training support

• Conduct legal research using internal tools and provide strategic recommendations

Requirements:

• Experience in bankruptcy law, particularly representing creditors or financial institutions

• Familiarity with court procedures, hearing preparation, and docket management

• Ability to manage deadlines, court appearances, and case documentation independently

• Proactive communication and collaboration with both internal teams and clients

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Licensed and in good standing with a state bar (California preferred)

Skills:

• Strong legal research and analytical skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication

• Proficiency in managing complex legal documentation and hearing processes
