Director of Consultant Engagement and Optimization
The candidate will collaborate with Consultants, Business Unit and Group Leaders on strategic staffing optimization. Develop and deploy a strategic staffing optimization model that considers project pipeline, current staffing resources, skillsets and subject matter expertise required on projects, and recruiting needs. The model should include policies and procedures on staffing as well as technology tools to optimize staffing assignments and planning. Manage Business Unit pipeline analysis to inform staffing and recruiting needs. Work with Business Unit and Group Leader and Consultants in charge of staffing to manage the work assignment process for Consultants across projects within the Business Unit. Monitor workloads and (in conjunction with the Professional Development team) professional development of Consultants and help allocate new matters in a manner that ensures an equitable distribution of assignments consistent with the clients’ needs and the Consultants’ individual talents and professional development goals. Track, aggregate and analyze staffing metrics, including availability information and utilization rates. Partner with Business Unit Leader and Consultants to ensure that individual goals relating to productivity are achieved and Business Unit productivity is optimized. Coordinate with Business Unit Leader and other supervising Consultants to identify staffing needs and hiring targets; partner with the Recruiting team to ensure hiring efforts are supporting the goals and needs of the Business Unit. Support the Consultant performance review process by working with Talent Management and Group and Business Unit leadership to ensure quality reviews are delivered in a timely fashion. Work with Consultants to implement review feedback, collaborating with Professional Development team members to provide coaching, where necessary. Meet regularly with Business Unit and Group Leader to identify high performing Consultants who may be having specific challenges so that appropriate mentoring, training and other actions can be taken to address specific circumstances in a timely manner. Coordinate with Professional Development to facilitate the delivery of regular feedback between Business Unit leadership and Consultants. Partner with Recruiting and Professional Development to facilitate a robust onboarding and integration program for new consultant hires. Collaborate with the Firm's Diversity and Inclusion team to champion and implement initiatives and events. Promote best practices that aid in maintaining an inclusive culture and serve as a resource for diverse Consultants. Help conduct exit interviews such that the Firm can leverage departing Consultant feedback to improve the Consultant experience. Collaborate with HR/Wellness teams to promote the wellness of Consultants. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Organizational Development, or related field is required. MBA degree is preferred. Should have 10+ years of experience in a client-centered professional services/consulting environment, with experience managing consulting resources. Significant experience and facility with financial analysis, modeling, databases and analytics is required.
