Job Overview:
A top-tier law firm is seeking a highly qualified Mid-Level Associate Attorney to join its Intellectual Property (IP) Litigation Practice Group in Washington, D.C. This role is designed for attorneys with 3–4 years of experience in patent litigation. Candidates with a technical background are preferred, though such background is not mandatory if the candidate has substantial patent litigation experience. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex IP disputes with a leading legal team in a dynamic, high-profile practice.

Location:

• Washington, D.C.

Duties:

• Handle all phases of patent litigation in federal courts and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office

• Prepare and draft motions, pleadings, and briefs

• Conduct legal research, discovery, and case strategy development

• Participate in depositions, hearings, and trial preparation

• Collaborate with colleagues, technical experts, and clients on complex IP matters

• Analyze and explain technical concepts in a legal context

Requirements:

• 3–4 years of experience in patent litigation

• Prior work on complex patent disputes, including in life sciences, electronics, or software, is advantageous

• Technical or scientific background preferred but not required

• Ability to manage deadlines and complex case details effectively

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

• Strong academic credentials required

Certifications:

• Admitted to practice law in Washington, D.C. or New York (active and in good standing)

Skills:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Strong research, drafting, and analytical abilities

• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

• Experience handling expert reports and scientific evidence preferred
