Associate Counsel, Player Matters
The candidate will assist in all matters handled by the Legal Department related to company players and administration of the game, including items related to: Administration and enforcement of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. rules; Analysis/advice regarding the Salary Cap and other facets of the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***./NBPA Collective Bargaining Agreement; Management of processes related to trades; Free agency and other related matters; Collective bargaining with the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA); Support of basketball operations initiatives. Assist with processes related to trades, the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Draft, advice regarding the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***./NBPA Collective Bargaining Agreement, and player contract management. Draft memos to **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. teams regarding the Salary Cap and other player matters. Assist with various facets of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. rules enforcement, including investigations and related internal and external communications. Support legal team on all matters related to collective bargaining. Provide legal support for the basketball operations department with respect to various initiatives, playing rules issues, and competitive matters. Provide advice and assistance with other issues related to **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. teams and players in support of the Legal Department. Must have excellent record of academic and professional achievement. Should have 2-5 years of experience at a law firm and/or in-house legal department. Must have excellent analytical, writing, and oral presentation skills. Strong familiarity with **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. game, teams, and players a plus. Must have Law degree and bar admission.
